If you are starting from the Polonnaruwa bus station, exit the station and head east on the main road (A11) towards the city center. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the road leading to the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa. Turn left onto this road and walk for about 500 meters. You will see the entrance to the Vatadage complex on your right. Follow the signs to reach the Vatadage.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Polonnaruwa. From the Polonnaruwa bus station, cycle east along the A11 road for about 1.5 kilometers. At the intersection leading to the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa, turn left and continue cycling for approximately 500 meters until you see the entrance to the Vatadage on your right. Parking is available nearby.
