Car
To reach Kalmunai Point from the central areas of Puttalam District, start by driving south on the A12 road. Continue on the A12 for approximately 30 kilometers. Take a right turn onto the B78 road towards Etalai. After around 10 kilometers, you will reach a junction where you need to take a left turn onto the road leading to Kalmunai Point. Follow the road for about 5 kilometers until you arrive at Kalmunai Point, located at the address 3Q74+82G, Etalai. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel as there are limited fuel stations along the route.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, start by taking a bus from Puttalam town to Kalpitiya Bus Terminal. From there, find a bus heading towards Etalai (make sure to ask for the correct bus, as routes may change). The bus ride will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. Upon arrival in Etalai, you may need to take a tuk-tuk or a local taxi to reach Kalmunai Point, which is about 5 kilometers away. Be prepared to pay around 300-500 LKR for the tuk-tuk ride. It's advisable to confirm the fares before starting your journey.
