Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Ratnapura, head south on Main Street (A4 road) towards the town of Pelmadulla. After approximately 6 kilometers, turn left onto the Panagama Road (B4 road). Continue for about 8 kilometers, and you will reach a small sign indicating 'Hirigalketiya Waterfall' on your left. Park your vehicle at the designated parking area nearby. The waterfall is a short 10-15 minute walk from the parking, following a well-marked path.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    Start at the Ratnapura bus stand and take a bus heading towards Pelmadulla. Make sure to tell the driver you want to go to Hirigalketiya. The bus ride will take around 30-40 minutes. Get off at the nearest stop to Panagama Road. From there, you can either walk approximately 2 kilometers along Panagama Road until you reach the sign for 'Hirigalketiya Waterfall' or hire a tuk-tuk for a small fare (around 200-300 LKR) to take you to the entrance. The waterfall is a short walk from the drop-off point.
