Getting There

    From the center of Sigiriya, head east towards the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Once you reach the entrance of the fortress, continue straight on the main road for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by several local shops and restaurants along the way. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Minneriya National Park. After approximately 20 minutes of walking, you will see a sign for Minneriya on your left. Follow this road, and after another 1 kilometer, you will arrive at the entrance to Minneriya National Park.

  • Tuk Tuk

    If you prefer a quicker option, you can hire a tuk-tuk from various points in Sigiriya. Simply ask the driver to take you to Minneriya National Park. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Ensure to agree on the fare before you start your journey. The driver will take you along the main road, and you will see the park entrance on your right. Enjoy the scenic views during your ride!

  • Bicycle

    For the more adventurous, renting a bicycle is a great way to get to Minneriya. Start at the main square in Sigiriya and head east towards the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Continue on the main road for about 1.5 kilometers, passing shops and local attractions. After about 20 minutes of cycling, you will reach a sign for Minneriya on your left. Turn onto this road and cycle for another kilometer to reach the park's entrance. This route offers a fantastic opportunity to see the local scenery and wildlife along the way.
