Walking
If you are in the Sigiriya area, begin your journey by walking towards the main road that connects Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa. Head southeast along the A1 road until you reach the junction where it meets the B2 road. Follow the B2 road towards Polonnaruwa for about 10 kilometers. Once you reach the entrance of Polonnaruwa, continue straight until you find Bund Rd. Pothgul Viharaya will be located along this road on your left.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Sigiriya and head towards the A1 road. Cycle southeast for about 10 kilometers. At the junction, veer onto the B2 road towards Polonnaruwa. Keep cycling straight until you arrive at Bund Rd. Once you are on Bund Rd, look for Pothgul Viharaya on your left side. It's a pleasant ride through the beautiful countryside, so take your time and enjoy the scenery!

To reach Pothgul Viharaya via tuk-tuk, find a tuk-tuk stand in Sigiriya. Inform the driver that you want to go to Bund Rd in Polonnaruwa, specifically to Pothgul Viharaya. The journey will take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will take you southeast along the A1 road, then onto the B2 road. You will arrive directly at Bund Rd. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance to Pothgul Viharaya.
