From the Sigiriya Rock Fortress entrance, head south towards the main road (Dambulla - Sigiriya Road). Once you reach the road, turn left and walk along the side of the road towards the Dambulla direction. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you see a small path leading to the right. This path will take you towards the Mapagala Fortress. Follow this path, which will lead you through some greenery and up a slight incline, until you reach the fortress.
