Getting There

Walking
From the center of Sigiriya, head north on the main road towards the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the entrance to the Sigiriya Rock. Instead of entering the fortress, look for a sign that directs you to Pidurangala Rock. Follow the path to the left which leads towards Pidurangala Temple. This road will take you through lush greenery and local villages. After approximately 2 kilometers, you will arrive at the base of Pidurangala Rock. There is a small entrance fee, so be prepared to pay that. Once you have entered, follow the clearly marked trail leading up the rock. The hike can be steep and rocky, but after about 30-45 minutes of climbing, you will reach the top of Pidurangala Rock where you can enjoy the stunning views of Sigiriya and the surrounding landscape.
