Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Galle, take the A2 highway towards Matara. After approximately 15 kilometers, keep an eye out for a sign for Unawatuna. Follow the signs to Unawatuna, and as you enter the town, continue on the main road. You will reach a fork; take the left road that leads to the Jungle Beach parking area. The parking area is usually available, but if it’s full, you may need to park further away and walk. From the parking area, follow the short pathway that leads you down to Jungle Beach.

  • Public Transportation

    From Galle, you can take a public bus heading to Unawatuna. Buses leave frequently from the Galle bus station and the fare is usually around LKR 30-50. Get off at the Unawatuna stop. From there, you can either walk to Jungle Beach, which is about a 20-30 minute walk, or you can take a tuk-tuk, which will cost around LKR 200-300. The tuk-tuk drivers will know the way to Jungle Beach. Once you arrive, you may have to walk a short distance from the road to the beach itself.

  • Tuk-Tuk

    If you're in Unawatuna, you can easily find a tuk-tuk to take you to Jungle Beach. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes and costs approximately LKR 300. Just tell the driver 'Jungle Beach' and they will take you directly there. The drop-off point is close to the beach access path.
