Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Galle, which is a major city in Southern Province. Drive east on the A2 highway towards Elpitiya. After about 15 kilometers, turn left onto the B178 road toward Kanneliya. Continue on this road for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Kanneliya Forest Reserve. There is usually a small fee for entering the reserve, so keep some cash handy. Parking is available at the entrance.

Public Transportation
To reach Kanneliya via public transportation, take a bus from Galle to Elpitiya. Buses run frequently, and the journey takes about 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive at Elpitiya, you can either take another local bus heading towards Kanneliya or hire a tuk-tuk to take you the remaining 12 kilometers to the Kanneliya Forest Reserve. The tuk-tuk ride will cost around 500-1000 LKR. Be sure to confirm the fare before starting your ride.

If you are already in the vicinity of Kanneliya and want to enjoy a tuk-tuk ride, you can hire one from nearby towns like Elpitiya or from the outskirts of Galle. The tuk-tuk will take you directly to the entrance of Kanneliya Forest Reserve. Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand; it should be around 1000 LKR from Elpitiya or approximately 2000 LKR from Galle, depending on your starting point.
