Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from Nuwara Eliya, take the A5 road towards Beragala. Continue on the A5 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Beragala. Look for the signs directing you to Thangamale Sanctuary, which is located just off the main road at the coordinates QW9F+GCM. There is a small parking area available at the sanctuary entrance. Please note that the roads can be winding and may require cautious driving.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    From Nuwara Eliya, you can catch a bus to Beragala at the main bus terminal. The journey takes about an hour and buses run frequently. Once you arrive in Beragala, you can either walk to the sanctuary (approximately 2 km) or take a tuk-tuk for a small fee (around 300 LKR). The sanctuary is located just off the main road; ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance.
