If you are traveling by car, head towards the town of Dambulla which is approximately 15 kilometers from Sigiriya. From Dambulla, take the A9 highway northbound. Follow the signs for Sigiriya, which is about 20 kilometers away. Once you reach Sigiriya, look for parking areas near the entrance of the fortress. Be aware that there may be a parking fee of around 500 LKR.

To reach Sigiriya by public transportation, take a bus from Kandy or Dambulla. Buses leave regularly from both locations. If you are in Kandy, take the bus to Dambulla, and then transfer to a bus heading directly to Sigiriya. The bus fare from Kandy to Dambulla is approximately 150 LKR, and from Dambulla to Sigiriya is around 50 LKR. The bus station in Sigiriya is located close to the entrance of the fortress, making it convenient for visitors.
