If you are traveling by car, start from Colombo and take the A1 highway towards Kurunegala. After approximately 80 km, take the exit towards the A6 road. Continue on the A6 for about 30 km until you reach Maho. Follow the signs for Yapahuwa Rock Fortress. The fortress is located at R896+4JX, Maho. There is a parking area available near the entrance.

From Colombo, you can take a bus from the Central Bus Station to Kurunegala. The journey takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. Once in Kurunegala, transfer to a local bus heading towards Maho. Buses run frequently, and the trip will take around 45 minutes. You will need to get off at the nearest stop to Yapahuwa Rock Fortress and walk approximately 1 km to the entrance.
