Note that you will need to pay an entrance fee at the park gate, which is approximately LKR 4,000 for foreign visitors, and LKR 2,000 for Sri Lankans.

To reach Yala National Park by public transportation, take a bus from Colombo to Tissamaharama. The bus ride takes around 5-6 hours and costs approximately LKR 500-600. Once in Tissamaharama, you can hire a tuk-tuk or a taxi to take you to the park entrance, which is about 14 kilometers away. Expect to pay around LKR 1,500-2,000 for the tuk-tuk ride. Upon arrival at the entrance, you will need to pay the park entrance fee.
