Hedlunda Husky is a small, family-run sled-dog operation based at Heden 14 in the Robertsfors area, where the focus is on the dogs’ care, training and public encounters. The site functions both as kennels and an activity base: guests meet the team of Siberian huskies, learn about day-to-day life with working dogs and are invited to interact with puppies and adult animals under staff supervision.

Visits are compact, activity-led sessions that combine light exertion and animal contact. On snow-free months you can try kickbike driving with one or two dogs or take part in a husky-jogg with a guide setting pace to match your comfort. Activities are designed to be hands-on but controlled: harnessing demonstrations, short runs or rides, and a relaxed period of play and puppy cuddles finish the program.

The farm feels rural and intimate: you arrive into birch-and-pine surroundings, hear the steady pant and playful barking of dogs and smell wood smoke when a staff-fired brazier is lit for the included fika. Animal fur, warm breath and the smell of damp earth in wet months are part of the experience, together with the click of harness fittings and the light thump of paws on the ground.

Hedlunda’s typical activity sessions last roughly 2 to 2.5 hours, long enough to meet the dogs, join a guided run or kickbike session, and relax by the fire with hot drink and cake. The physical element ranges from easy-to-moderate: you stand, harness dogs and may jog or balance on a kickbike; staff adapt pace for families and less energetic participants.

The farm operates year-round with summer ‘barmark’ (off-snow) activities and winter sled excursions when snow conditions permit. Its rural Västerbotten setting gives a sense of northern countryside life rather than a commercial theme-park feel — the focus is on authentic dog care, small-group guiding and direct contact between visitor and animal.

Facilities are those of an active farmyard rather than a large visitor complex: simple outdoor meeting spots, kennels and staff areas, plus a warmed spot for fika. The experience is curated by hosts who manage safety and animal welfare; expect close but supervised encounters and staff-led briefings throughout the visit.
