If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the city of Sundsvall, which is about 90 kilometers south of Hemsö Fortress. From Sundsvall, take Route 86 north towards Örnsköldsvik. After approximately 30 kilometers, turn onto Route 335 towards Hemsön. Continue on Route 335 for about 15 kilometers until you reach the ferry terminal at Hemsö. Here, you will need to take a ferry to the fortress. The ferry operates frequently, and you can check the schedule on the local ferry service website. The ferry ride takes about 10-15 minutes, and there is a small fee for the crossing, typically around 50 SEK per person. Once you arrive on Hemsö, follow the signs to Hemsö Fortress, which is within walking distance from the ferry terminal.
