If you are traveling by car, start from central Stockholm and head northeast on E18 towards Norrtälje. Follow the signs for Vaxholm. Once you reach Vaxholm, continue straight until you hit the waterfront area. Follow the signs for Vaxholms Fästnings Museum, which is located on Kastellet Island. You'll need to park at the designated parking area in Vaxholm, which may incur a fee. After parking, you can take a short ferry ride from the mainland to Kastellet Island, where the museum is situated.

For those using public transportation, start by taking a bus or train from Stockholm to Vaxholm. The SL bus service (Bus 670) operates from the city center to Vaxholm, or you can take a train to Täby and then a bus to Vaxholm. Once you arrive in Vaxholm, you will need to walk to the ferry terminal. From there, take the ferry to Kastellet Island. The ferry ticket costs a small fee and can be purchased at the terminal. The museum is just a short walk from the ferry landing on Kastellet Island.
