Stockholm Tour from Cruise Port with Vasa Museum and Old Town

Beautiful Old Town and an Incredible Ship

We had one port day in Stockholm and wanted to see something historical as well as experience the atmosphere of the city. This excursion gave us a nice combination of both. The Vasa Museum was much more impressive than we anticipated. The size and condition of the ship are remarkable, and our guide explained its history in a way that made the visit easy to appreciate even if you're not normally a museum person. After the museum, we had free time in the Old Town. This was perfect for us because we could slow down and explore together. We wandered through Gamla Stan, admired the architecture, took photos, and stopped for a drink before meeting back up. The transportation was comfortable, and everything felt well coordinated around our cruise schedule. We never felt that we were being hurried from one place to another, but at the same time we always knew what the plan was. For us, the combination of guided sightseeing and independent time was the best part. It gave us a good introduction to Stockholm without making the day feel overly structured.

Our guide, Thomas, gave us lots of information and had a great personality. He answered all our many questions and gave us a great feel for Stockholm and its residents. Vehicle was comfortable and plenty of space for 7 plus the driver. Thomas choice a lovely place for a relaxing lunch. Our only suggestion is that there be some bottled water available. We did not think to bring our own.

History and Fun on a cold but Beautiful Day

Toured in March and it was cold but beautiful and sunny. Kate picked us up just as communicated and outlined our plan to visit the Palace and Castle. She personally led the tours first through the palace and grounds while sharing a wealth of history and inside stories about the monarchy. Due to time of year we were unable to go inside the Gripsholm castle but we toured the grounds and once again Kate shared knowledge and history of the castle.
