His vision for Tessin Palace integrated functional Nordic adaptations with Baroque flair, creating intimate yet grand spaces that played with perspective and scale.

Initially featuring wing walls and a complex angled courtyard, the palace underwent modifications over time. Tessin's son, Carl Gustaf Tessin, inherited it, while later alterations by architects like Carl Hårleman introduced mansard roofs and simplified facades, toning down earlier Dutch Baroque elements. Queen Hedvig Eleonora's ownership added an orangerie, enhancing the formal parterre gardens with box hedges, ponds, sculptures, and fountains.
