Walking
If you are in the center of Ascona, start at Piazza G. Motta. Head north on Via G. Motta towards Via Borgo. Continue straight until you reach the lakefront promenade. Turn right and follow the promenade along Lake Maggiore, enjoying the beautiful views. After about 1 kilometer, you will reach the small town of Brissago. From there, you can take the ferry to Mergozzo. The ferry terminal is located at the lakefront. Once you arrive in Mergozzo, walk towards Via Montorfano. The Sentiero Azzurro START is located at Via Montorfano, 2, which is a short walk from the ferry terminal. Look for signs indicating the hiking trail.

From Ascona, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Via R. Cattaneo. Catch bus number 31 towards Verbania. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Mergozzo stop. After disembarking, walk along Via Roma towards the lake, then turn left onto Via Montorfano. Continue walking for about 5 minutes, and you will arrive at the Sentiero Azzurro START at Via Montorfano, 2. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for the return trip.
