Bus
From Ascona, head to the main bus station located near the lakefront. Look for the bus stop marked 'Ascona, Posta'. Take Bus Line 315 towards 'Lavizzara, Sambuco'. The bus ride will take approximately 40 minutes. Get off at the 'Lavizzara, Sambuco' stop. From there, it's a short walk to the Diga del Sambuco. Follow the road signs towards the Diga, which is about 1 km away.
Walking
If you prefer walking, start at the lakeside promenade in Ascona. Head northeast towards the Via Borgo and continue straight until you reach Via delle Scuole. Follow this road until you reach the intersection with Via Val Sambuco. Turn left onto Via Val Sambuco, which will take you directly to Lavizzara. It's approximately a 2-hour walk, so be prepared with water and snacks.
Bicycle
For those looking to explore by bicycle, rent a bike in Ascona and head towards the cycle path that leads out of town. Follow the signs for 'Lavizzara'. The path is scenic and will take you through beautiful landscapes. The ride takes about 1.5 hours, and you will arrive at the Diga del Sambuco.
