Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the center of Ascona, at the Piazza Giuseppe Motta, which is easily accessible from most hotels in the area. Head towards the lakeside promenade, following the beautiful path along Lake Maggiore. Continue along the promenade until you reach the small ferry terminal, known as 'Fermata Ascona'. Here, you will take a ferry to the nearby town of Locarno. The ferry ride offers stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Upon arriving in Locarno, disembark and make your way to the Locarno train station.

• Public Transportation

  From Locarno train station, board a train heading towards Como. Ensure you check the schedule as trains may not be frequent. After approximately a 30-minute ride, get off at the 'Como Lago' station. Once you arrive at Como, follow the signs to the funicular railway station, which is within walking distance. Purchase a ticket for the funicular to Brunate. The funicular ride is steep and takes about 7-10 minutes. Once you reach Brunate, exit the funicular and follow the signs towards Faro Voltiano, which is approximately a 10-minute walk uphill.

• Walking

  As you exit the funicular in Brunate, turn left and walk along Via al Faro. This road will lead you towards Faro Voltiano. Keep an eye out for signs, as the path can be winding. The lighthouse will be visible from a distance as you approach. The walk may take around 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace.
