Walk
From the center of Ascona, head towards the lakefront promenade (Lungolago). Walk along the promenade until you reach the Piazza G. Motta. Continue straight until you reach the fork; take the left path that leads you up Via San Francesco. Follow this road as it begins to ascend steeply. After about 15-20 minutes of walking, you will reach the intersection with Via Santuario. Turn left onto Via Santuario, and after another 10-15 minutes, you will arrive at Madonna del Sasso.

For a more scenic route, start at the Ascona town center and walk to the Orselina funicular station, which is about a 20-minute walk from Ascona. The funicular station is located at Via della Funicolare 2, Orselina. Once you reach the station, purchase a ticket and board the funicular. The ride takes about 3 minutes and offers stunning views of the surrounding area. Once you arrive at the top, follow the signs for Madonna del Sasso, which is just a short 5-minute walk away.
