Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the heart of Grossbasel, start by heading towards the Rhine River. Walk along the riverbank until you reach the Mittlere Brücke (Middle Bridge). Cross the bridge, and you will find yourself in Kleinbasel. Continue straight until you reach the Tinguely Fountain, located in front of the Basel Theatre. From there, turn left onto Theaterstraße and walk until you reach the Kunstmuseum Basel, which is on St. Alban-Graben. The museum is located at St. Alban-Graben 16, 4051 Basel. The walk should take about 20 minutes.

  • Tram

    You can also take Tram Line 8 from any tram stop in Grossbasel. Board the tram heading towards Kleinhüningen. Get off at the 'Universität' stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the museum. Exit the tram and walk east on Petersgraben, then turn left onto St. Alban-Graben. The Fine Arts Museum Basel will be on your right. A single tram ticket costs CHF 4.40 and can be purchased from ticket machines at the tram stops.
