Walking
If you are in the heart of Grossbasel, head towards the Rhine River. The Basler Pfalz is located directly along the riverbank. You can start at the Marktplatz and walk south towards the river. Once you reach the Rhine, turn left and walk along the riverbank. You'll pass the City Hall (Rathaus) on your way. Continue walking for about 10 minutes until you see the stairs leading up to the Pfalz. The steps will take you up to the observation deck, where you can enjoy stunning views of the Rhine and the city.
Tram
From any tram stop in Grossbasel, you can take tram line 8 towards 'Riehen' and get off at 'Kleinbasel, Schifflände' stop. From there, it's a 5-minute walk. Head straight towards the river and look for the stairs that lead up to the Basler Pfalz. Note that tram tickets cost around CHF 4.40 for a single journey within the city.
Public Transport (Bus)
If you are near a bus stop, you can take bus line 30 or 36 to 'Basel, Bankverein' and then transfer to tram line 8 towards 'Riehen'. Get off at 'Kleinbasel, Schifflände' stop. The walk to the Pfalz from there is about 5 minutes. Tickets for buses also cost around CHF 4.40 for a single journey. Ensure you validate your ticket before boarding.
