If you're at Basel SBB (the main train station), exit the station and head to the tram stop located just outside. Take Tram Line 8 towards Leimbach. After about 10 minutes, get off at the 'Marktplatz' stop. From there, you will be right at Marktpl.

If you're near the Rhine River, head towards the city center. Walk towards Mittlere Brücke (Middle Bridge) and cross over the river. Once on the other side, continue straight on Augustinergasse which leads you directly to Marktplatz. This walk will take approximately 15-20 minutes.
