Getting There

  • Tram

    If you are starting at Basel SBB (the main train station), take tram number 10 towards 'Basel, Bahnhof SBB' and get off at 'Universität'. This journey will take about 15 minutes. Once you exit the tram, walk in the direction of the university. Continue walking straight, and you will reach Spalentor in approximately 10 minutes. The landmark will be on your left, easily identifiable by its medieval architecture.

    If you are in the city center, such as at the Marktplatz, head northeast towards 'Spalenvorstadt'. Walk along Gerbergasse, which will lead you directly to Spalenvorstadt. Continue walking straight for about 15 minutes. Spalentor will be on your right. Look for the large stone gate structure.
