    From Bern main train station (Bern Hauptbahnhof), board a train heading to Thun. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Trains run frequently, so you should find one every 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Thun train station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal.

    At Thun train station, take bus line 21 (direction: 'Thun, Stadtbibliothek'). The bus ride takes about 10 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Thun, Schlossberg'. From the bus stop, walk up Schlossberg street for about 5 minutes until you reach Thun Castle (Schloss Thun) at Schlossberg 1.

  • Walking

    If you prefer to walk from Thun train station, exit the station and head towards the old town. Walk along the Aare River, and then follow signs to the old town (Altstadt). It’s a pleasant 20-minute walk along the scenic river pathway. Once you reach the old town, follow the signs to Schlossberg, where you will find Thun Castle.
