    From Interlaken, take the A8 highway towards Brienz. After about 15 minutes, take the exit towards Brienz. Continue on the B4 road following signs for Brienz. Once you reach Brienz, turn left towards Oberried am Brienzersee. Continue straight until you reach the parking area near the base of Augstmatthorn. The peak is accessible from there.

  • Train and Bus

    From Interlaken Ost train station, take a train towards Brienz. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once at Brienz station, transfer to the local bus towards Oberried am Brienzersee. The bus ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the stop for Oberried am Brienzersee, and from there, follow the signs to the trailhead leading to Augstmatthorn.

  • Hiking

    If you are already in the area, you can hike to Augstmatthorn from the nearby trails. Starting from Brienz, follow the marked hiking paths towards Oberried am Brienzersee.
