Walking
From the center of Grindelwald, head towards the main bus station, which is located near the Grindelwald Terminal. Once you reach the bus station, look for the bus stop for line 1 or line 2. These buses will take you towards the Bernese Highlands. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride. After approximately 30 minutes, the bus will stop at the designated drop-off point near the entrance to the Bernese Highlands. From there, follow the signs indicating the walking paths to explore the stunning landscapes.
Hiking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to hike to the Bernese Highlands, start from the center of Grindelwald and follow the signs towards the First Mountain. The trail begins near the Firstbahn cable car station. The hike is approximately 2.5 hours, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The trail is well-marked and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Once you reach the top, you will find paths leading into the Bernese Highlands area.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Grindelwald. From the rental shop, head towards the main road, and follow the signs for the bike path leading to the Bernese Highlands. This route is approximately 10 km and offers a mix of flat and hilly sections. Make sure to enjoy the views along the way! Once you arrive at the Bernese Highlands, park your bike at the designated area and explore the surroundings on foot.
