Getting There

  • Train and Cable Car

    From Interlaken Ost train station, take a train to Brig. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive in Brig, transfer to the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn train towards Fiesch. Get off at Fiesch station after about 20 minutes. From Fiesch, walk to the nearby cable car station, which is well-signposted. Take the cable car to Bettmeralp, which will take about 15 minutes. After reaching Bettmeralp, follow the signs leading to Glacier d'Aletsch. The glacier is a short walk from the cable car station.

  • Bus

    From Interlaken, take bus line 21 to the Interlaken Ost train station. From there, board a train to Brig. Upon arriving in Brig, switch to the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn train towards Fiesch. Disembark at Fiesch station. From Fiesch, walk to the cable car station and take the cable car to Bettmeralp. Once at Bettmeralp, follow the signs to Glacier d'Aletsch, which is a short walk away.

  • Hiking

    If you are adventurous and prefer hiking, you can take a train from Interlaken to Fiesch. From Fiesch station, you can hike up to Bettmeralp. The hike is approximately 2 hours and offers stunning views along the way. Once you arrive in Bettmeralp, follow the signs to Glacier d'Aletsch, which is a short walk from the center of Bettmeralp.
