Train
From Lausanne's main train station (Gare de Lausanne), take a train towards Montreux. Make sure to check the train schedules, as they can vary. You will need to change trains at Bulle station. At Bulle, transfer to the train heading to Gruyères. The entire journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Gruyères station, the village itself is about a 20-minute walk uphill to the main attractions, including the Gruyères Castle and the cheese factory.
Bus
From the Lausanne main train station, take a local bus (line 1 or 2) to the 'Lausanne, Gare' stop. From there, you can catch a regional bus heading to Gruyères. Make sure to check the bus schedules online or at the station, as they may not run frequently. The bus ride should take approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes and will drop you off in the center of Gruyères, close to the main attractions.
