Getting There

  • Bus

    From Locarno, head to the Locarno train station (Stazione di Locarno). Once there, find the bus terminal adjacent to the train station. Look for the bus line heading to Tremezzina (you may need to transfer at Menaggio depending on the schedule). Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride. Get off at the stop closest to Villa Carlotta, which is located on Via Regina. The museum is a short walk from the bus stop.

    From Locarno, make your way to the Lago Maggiore waterfront. Find the ferry terminal (Navigazione Lago Maggiore). Take a ferry towards Tremezzo. The ferry ride offers beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Disembark at the Tremezzo stop. From the ferry dock, walk along the lakeside promenade until you reach Via Regina. Villa Carlotta will be located a short distance up the road on your left.

    If you are near the center of Locarno, you can take a leisurely walk towards the lakeside and then follow the lakeside path heading north. This picturesque route will eventually lead you to the ferry terminal, where you can catch a ferry to Tremezzo as previously described. The walking distance is approximately 2 km to the ferry terminal, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
