Getting There

• Train

  From Lugano, head to the Lugano train station (Stazione di Lugano). You can walk there from the city center in about 10-15 minutes. Once at the station, take a train towards Lecco. Ensure to check the schedule for direct trains to Varenna-Esino, which is the nearest station to Castello di Vezio. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. After arriving at Varenna-Esino, follow the signs to the ferry terminal.

• Ferry

  Once at Varenna ferry terminal, take a ferry to Bellagio. This ferry ride offers stunning views of Lake Como and takes about 15 minutes. After arriving at Bellagio, you will need to walk to the bus stop located near the ferry terminal.

• Bus

  From the Bellagio ferry terminal, take the bus heading towards Perledo. The bus ride will take around 10-15 minutes. Get off at the stop called 'Perledo.' After getting off the bus, you will need to walk towards Via del Castellano, following the signs for Castello di Vezio. The castle is about a 15-20 minute uphill walk from the bus stop.

• Walking

  As you walk towards Castello di Vezio, follow Via del Castellano, which will take you directly to the castle. The path is scenic but can be steep, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Once you reach the castle, enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains.
