Getting There

• Public Transport

  Start at the Lugano train station (Stazione di Lugano). Take the bus line 2 towards 'Cassarate' and get off at the 'Cassarate' stop. From there, transfer to bus line 7 towards 'Montagnola' and get off at 'Montagnola, Monte Brè'. This is a scenic route, so enjoy the views along the way. Once you arrive at Monte Brè, you will need to walk approximately 30 minutes to reach Monumento naturale regionale di Pietra Pendula. Follow the signs towards Montepiatto, taking the path that leads through the woods, which will guide you to the monument.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk from the city center, start at the Parco Ciani. Head towards the lakeside promenade and follow it until you reach the end of the park. From there, take the Via Nassa road towards the north. Continue walking uphill towards the Monte Brè funicular. Once you reach the funicular station, you can either take the funicular to the top and walk down to the monument or continue walking on foot. If walking, follow the signs to Montepiatto, which will take about 1.5 hours from the city center.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you're looking for a more direct and quicker option, you can take a taxi or use a rideshare service from Lugano. Simply provide the driver with the address '22020 Montepiatto, Province of Como, Italy'. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes, and you will arrive close to the entrance of the monument. From the drop-off point, it's a short walk to the monument itself.
