Getting there

Car

From the center of Neuchâtel, head southeast on Rue de la Collégiale toward Rue des Pêcheurs. Continue onto Rue du Pré-du-Marché, then turn right onto Rue de la Serre. Follow the signs for A5/E27 toward Boudry/La Chaux-de-Fonds. After approximately 10 minutes, exit onto Route de Chaumont. Follow this road for about 6 km until you reach the parking area at Chaumont. Parking fees may apply.

Public Transportation

Start at the Neuchâtel train station (Gare de Neuchâtel). Take the local bus line 101 toward Chaumont, which departs from the bus stop located outside the train station. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to purchase a ticket before boarding (around CHF 3-5), which can be obtained from ticket machines at the station or on the bus. Once you arrive at the Chaumont stop, follow the signs to the hiking paths or viewpoints.

Hiking

If you're already in Neuchâtel and prefer hiking, you can start your trek from the city center. Head towards the Rue du Mont-Rond and follow the marked trails leading up to Chaumont. The hike is approximately 4.5 km and will take about 1.5 hours. Ensure you wear proper hiking shoes and bring water. This option is cost-free but may require a moderate level of fitness.
