Getting There

  • Car

    From Solothurn, head southwest on the A5 highway. Follow the signs for A2 towards Basel. Continue on A2 for approximately 30 kilometers. Take exit 1 towards Basel-St. Johann/Allschwil. Merge onto Birsigstrasse, then turn right onto Spalengraben. The University of Basel Botanical Garden will be on your left at Spalengraben 8, 4051 Basel. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that parking fees may apply.

    From Solothurn railway station, take a train towards Basel SBB. Trains operate regularly with a travel time of about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Basel SBB, exit the station and follow the signs for tram lines. Take tram line 8 towards Kleinhüningen. Get off at the stop 'Universität'. From there, it is a short walk to the University of Basel Botanical Garden located at Spalengraben 8. Please check the ticket pricing for the train and tram as costs may vary.
