    If you are traveling by car in Solothurn, you will first need to head towards the A5 highway. From the center of Solothurn, take the Hauptstrasse (Main Street) and follow signs for A5 towards Basel. Once on the A5, continue for about 25 km until you reach the exit for Basel City. After exiting, follow the signs for Basel and then for Spalenvorstadt. There are parking facilities available around Spalentor, but be aware that parking may incur fees, typically around CHF 1.50 per hour.

    To reach Spalentor using public transportation, start by taking a train from Solothurn Bahnhof (the main train station) to Basel SBB. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Basel SBB, purchase a ticket to Basel Stadt, which costs about CHF 5.50. Upon arrival at Basel Stadt, exit the train station and take tram line 10 towards 'Riehen' or tram line 8 towards 'Kaiseraugst'. Get off at the 'University' stop.
