Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Basel SBB train station, exit the station and head towards the main road, Bahnhofplatz. Turn left and walk straight on Bahnhofstrasse. Continue walking for about 10 minutes until you reach Barfüsserplatz. From Barfüsserplatz, walk straight towards the City Hall (Rathaus) which is a large red building. Marktplatz will be directly in front of you, and you can’t miss the vibrant market stalls if they are set up.

If you prefer to take public transport, you can hop on tram line 10 or 8 from the Basel SBB train station. Board the tram at the SBB station and ride for 2 stops. Get off at 'Rathaus' tram stop. Once you exit the tram, walk towards the large red Rathaus building. Marktplatz will be right in front of you.
