Getting There

  • Train

    From Thun, walk to the Thun train station (Bahnhof Thun), which is located just a 10-minute walk from the city center. Take a train towards Interlaken Ost, which departs regularly. After about 30 minutes, get off at the Lungern station. Once you arrive at Lungern station, exit the station and walk towards the lake, which is a 15-minute walk downhill from the station. Follow the signs pointing to 'Lake Lungern' (Lungernsee) and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

    From Thun, take bus number 21 from the Thun bus terminal (next to the train station) towards Interlaken. The bus ride will take about 40 minutes. Get off at the 'Lungern' stop, and from there, you can walk directly to Lake Lungern, which is a short 5-minute walk. Just follow the signs to the lake.

  • Bicycle

    If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Thun. Head towards the Thun lake promenade and follow the scenic bike paths towards Lungern.
