Getting there

Walk

From the center of Zermatt, head southwest on Bahnhofstrasse towards the Matterhorn Museum. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the end of the street. At the intersection, take a left onto Oberdorfstrasse. Follow this road as it curves to the right and becomes Untere Matten. Keep walking straight for another 1 kilometer until you see signs for Grünsee. The signs will direct you towards the hiking path. Follow the path for approximately 30 minutes to reach Grünsee, enjoying the scenic views along the way.

Hiking

If you're looking for a more adventurous route, you can hike from Zermatt directly to Grünsee. Start at the Zermatt train station and follow the signs for the hiking trail towards Grünsee. The hike will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, so ensure you have enough water and suitable walking shoes. The trail is well-marked and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Alps.

Public Transport - Shuttle

For a more relaxed journey, you can take a local shuttle bus from the main Zermatt station. Look for the shuttle service that goes towards the nearby valleys and specifically stops at Grünsee.
