Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Arusha and cycle to Ngurdoto Crater. Start from the city center and head southeast on Sokoine Road. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Old Moshi Road. Turn left onto Old Moshi Road and follow it for about 10 kilometers. You'll see signs for Ngurdoto Crater along the way. Once you reach the entrance, lock up your bike and enjoy the breathtaking views.

Walking
For the more adventurous walkers, it's possible to hike to Ngurdoto Crater, although it's a long trek. Start at the Arusha Central Market, then walk along Boma Road heading southeast. Follow the road until you reach the junction with Old Moshi Road. From here, continue straight on Old Moshi Road for about 10 kilometers. Be aware this is quite a long walk, so ensure you have plenty of water and take breaks as needed. You’ll find the entrance to Ngurdoto Crater at the end of your walk.

Public Transport (Daladala)
To reach Ngurdoto Crater using public transport, take a daladala (minibus) from the central market area in Arusha. Look for a daladala heading towards Kijenge or Moshi. Inform the conductor that you’re going to Ngurdoto Crater. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the nearest stop to the crater entrance, where you can walk the remaining distance to the entrance gate.

You can also hire a taxi to take you directly to Ngurdoto Crater from anywhere in Arusha. Simply ask your hotel or a local to help you arrange for a taxi. The driver will take you approximately 20 kilometers southeast of Arusha. Make sure to agree on a fare before starting your journey. The taxi will drop you off at the entrance of Ngurdoto Crater.
