Getting There

• Taxi

  From any location in Arusha, you can hire a taxi to take you directly to Arusha National Park. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey. The ride typically takes about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Inform the driver that you want to go to 'Arusha National Park' and be clear about your destination to avoid confusion.

• Boda Boda (Motorcycle Taxi)

  For a quicker and often cheaper option, you can take a 'boda boda'. These motorcycle taxis can navigate through traffic more easily. You can find them near major hotels or along busy streets. Negotiate the fare before you hop on, and tell the rider you want to go to 'Arusha National Park'. The journey usually takes about 30 minutes.

• Matatu (Shared Minibus)

  If you're looking for a budget-friendly option, you can take a 'matatu'. Head to the nearest matatu station, commonly found in the city center. Look for a matatu that is heading towards Momella or Moshi, as they pass near the park. The fare is usually very affordable, around 1000-2000 TZS. Once you get off at the nearest stop, you can either walk to the park entrance or hire a local taxi or boda boda for the remaining distance.

• Walking (For the Adventurous)

  If you're feeling adventurous and the weather is pleasant, you can walk towards the park. Start from the city center and head towards the Arusha-Moshi road. Follow the signs leading to the park, which is approximately 10 km away. It's advisable to leave early in the morning to avoid the midday heat, and ensure you have enough water and sun protection.
