To reach Pugu Hills Forest Reserve from the city center, start by heading to the Dala Dala station at Kariakoo. Look for a Dala Dala heading towards Pugu. These vehicles are usually marked with their destination on the front. Once you board, pay the fare (usually around 500 TZS). The ride may take around 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. You’ll want to get off at the stop near Pugu Road, specifically where the road branches off towards the reserve. From there, you can ask locals for directions to the entrance of Pugu Hills Forest Reserve, which is approximately a 10-minute walk.

Bicycle Rental
Another way to reach Pugu Hills Forest Reserve is by renting a bicycle. There are several bicycle rental shops in the city center. Rent a bike and head south on Nyerere Road. Follow the road until you reach the junction that leads to Pugu. The ride may take around 1-1.5 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to wear a helmet and stay safe on the roads. Once you reach the entrance to Pugu Hills, lock your bike and enjoy your time in the forest.

Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and fit, you can walk to Pugu Hills Forest Reserve. Starting from the city center, head towards Julius K. Nyerere Road. It's a long walk of approximately 12-15 kilometers, so be prepared. Follow Nyerere Road south, making sure to stay on the sidewalk for safety. You will eventually reach the area near the reserve. It might take about 2-3 hours to walk there, so bring plenty of water and sun protection as you enjoy the local scenery along the way.

For a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi to Pugu Hills Forest Reserve. You can easily find a taxi in the city center. Show the driver the address '33QV+VF6, Julius K.
