    If you are traveling by car from Mahale Mountains, start by heading towards the nearest major town, which is Kigoma. From Mahale, you will need to take a boat back to the mainland. Once you reach the mainland, drive towards Kigoma on the main road. The distance is approximately 50 kilometers and will take about 1 hour. Once in Kigoma, follow the signs towards Mwanza on the A104 road. Continue north for about 140 kilometers until you reach Mwanza. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Saanane National Park, which is located just south of Mwanza. The park entrance is located at FV4Q+HRJ, Mwanza.

    To reach Saanane National Park using public transportation, first, you must take a boat from Mahale Mountains to the mainland, then head to Kigoma. Once in Kigoma, you can find buses heading towards Mwanza at the bus station. The bus ride will take about 2-3 hours depending on the road conditions. After arriving in Mwanza, you can take a taxi or a local dala-dala (minibus) to reach the park entrance at FV4Q+HRJ, Mwanza. It's recommended to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
