From Mahale Mountains, you will need to drive to the nearest major town, which is Kigoma. Start by heading northwest towards Kigoma, which is approximately 100 km from Mahale. The drive will take around 2-3 hours depending on road conditions. Once you arrive in Kigoma, refuel and prepare for the next leg of your journey to Serengeti National Park.

Public Transportation
From Mahale Mountains, take a boat or a small charter flight to Kigoma. If you opt for the boat, it will take around 1-2 hours to reach Kigoma. Once in Kigoma, catch a bus to Arusha, which usually takes about 15-20 hours. You should book your bus ticket in advance, as they can fill up quickly. Make sure to bring snacks and water for the long journey.

Car
After reaching Kigoma, you can rent a car or hire a taxi to drive to Serengeti National Park. The distance from Kigoma to Serengeti is roughly 300 km. You will need to take the A104 road towards Mwanza and then follow signs to the park. The drive could take around 5-7 hours, depending on the road conditions and traffic. Ensure to check the fuel level and carry extra fuel if possible, as fuel stations can be sparse.

Domestic Flight
Alternatively, if you prefer a quicker option, you can take a domestic flight from Kigoma to Serengeti National Park. Various airlines operate flights, and you should book your tickets in advance. The flight duration is about 1 hour, but remember to factor in airport check-in times. This is a more expensive option but saves you considerable travel time.
