Walking
From the Mbeya city center, head southwest on the main road (Nyerere Road) towards the Mbeya Bus Terminal. As you walk, look for the signs indicating 'Chunya' or ask locals for directions. The distance is approximately 10 kilometers, and it should take around 2 hours. Once you reach the bus terminal, you can take a 'dala dala' (local minibus) heading towards Chunya. Ensure you confirm with the driver that they will stop at Punto Alto Chunya.
Dala Dala
At Mbeya Bus Terminal, board a 'dala dala' that is headed to Chunya. The fare is typically very affordable, around 2000 TZS. The journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes. Keep an eye out for landmarks along the way, and ask the driver to drop you off at the closest point to Punto Alto Chunya, which is located at 4CRW+4G in Mbeya.
Walking
Once you are dropped off near Punto Alto Chunya, you may need to walk the remaining distance. Look for signs or local residents who can guide you. The area around 4CRW+4G is recognizable, and it is known for its scenic views. The walk from the drop-off point to the location should not exceed 15-20 minutes.
