Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the center of Moshi, head towards the main road, Uhuru Street. Walk north until you reach the junction with Sokoine Road. Turn left onto Sokoine Road and continue walking for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Lemosho Road. Turn right onto Lemosho Road. Continue walking straight for approximately 15 minutes. You will see Lemosho Route on your left side, marked with signs leading to the Kilimanjaro trailheads.

  • Bicycle

    From the Moshi town center, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops. Start your journey by cycling north on Uhuru Street. After about 5 minutes, take a left onto Sokoine Road. Continue cycling straight for about 10 minutes. When you reach the Lemosho Road intersection, turn right. Cycle for another 15 minutes, and you will see Lemosho Route on the left, where the trailhead begins.

  • Public Transport (Dala-Dala)

    To reach Lemosho Route using public transport, find a Dala-Dala (minibus taxi) that is headed towards Machame or Lemosho. These can be found at the main Dala-Dala station near the Clock Tower in Moshi. Board the Dala-Dala and inform the conductor that you want to go to Lemosho Route. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive, get off when the Dala-Dala stops near Lemosho Road. From there, it’s a short walk to the trailhead.
