Car
If you're traveling by car from Moshi, head southwest on B1 towards Arusha. After about 45 km, take the exit towards Machame Road (A23). Continue on the Machame Road until you reach the Machame Gate, the starting point for many Kilimanjaro treks. From here, you will need to arrange for a trekking company to take you up the mountain to Baranco Camp, which is approximately a 5-6 hour hike from the Machame Gate.

Public Transportation
To reach Baranco Camp via public transportation, take a dala dala (shared minibus) from Moshi to Machame Village. The ride will take about 30-45 minutes. Once you arrive in Machame Village, you can either hire a local guide or arrange a trek with a tour company to take you from Machame Gate to Baranco Camp. The trek will take about 5-6 hours, and it is advisable to have a guide for safety and to navigate the trail.

Once at Machame Gate, you will begin your trek to Baranco Camp. Follow the Machame route, which is well-marked and popular among climbers.
