From Moshi town center, head towards the Main Bus Station (Moshi Bus Stand) located at the junction of Uhuru Street and Sokoine Road. Once you reach the bus station, look for signs indicating the route to Machame Gate, which is the starting point for the Machame Route to Uhuru Peak. It's about a 45-minute walk to the bus station.

At Machame Gate, you will need to register and pay the necessary park fees. After registration, you will begin your hike up the Machame Route. The hike to Uhuru Peak typically takes about 6-7 days, depending on your acclimatization plan. Follow the well-marked trail; guides are available if you haven’t arranged one in advance. The route will take you through lush rainforest, heath, and moorland before reaching the alpine desert and finally, the summit.
