Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car, begin your journey from Moshi, which is a common starting point for treks to Kilimanjaro. Drive south on the A23 road for about 30 minutes until you reach the town of Mweka. From there, follow the signs to Mweka Gate, which is the starting point for the Mweka Route leading to Uhuru Peak. The road is well-marked, but be cautious of potholed sections. Parking is available at the Mweka Gate, but ensure you arrive early to secure a spot as it can fill up quickly.

To reach Mweka Gate using public transportation, take a daladala (local minibus) from Moshi to Mweka. The ride should take about 45 minutes and cost around 2,000 TZS.
