From the Ngorongoro Crater Rim, head towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area's main entrance. Drive along the road towards Karatu, following signs that indicate the way to the Elephant Caves. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. The Elephant Caves are located at coordinates -3.3454, 35.6697, near the MM39+RVM area in Karatu. As you approach the area, keep an eye out for any local signage that may direct you to the caves. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel before starting your trip, as fuel stations may be sparse in this region.

Public Transportation
To reach the Elephant Caves via public transport, first, make your way to the nearest bus station in Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Look for a bus heading towards Karatu. The bus journey should take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the road conditions. Once you arrive in Karatu, you can hire a local taxi or a motorbike taxi (boda-boda) to take you to the Elephant Caves. The fare for the taxi should be negotiated beforehand, and expect to pay around 10,000 to 20,000 TZS (Tanzanian Shillings). Make sure to indicate the MM39+RVM location to your driver.
